Rev Limiter/ Restrictor

#P300

£51.95Item is no longer available/produced
Description

This rev limiter is a clever way to restrict your scooter. It engages a rev limiter automatically whenever the engine is turned off. To un-restrict the revs again you have to enter a code to the rev limiter by tapping your brake lever. The rev limit is adjustable.

Question
  • Q. i have a 70cc sports cylinder and a sports exhaust, can I use a rev limiter to limit my moped to 30mph ?
  • A.

no, if you have a 70cc kit and a sports pipe the engine revs will be the same (say 9500rpm) all of the time at all speeds until it reaches around 55mph, only once you reach 55mph and the variator has moved all the way out it can do the engine revs start to increase so in this example you could only set the limiter to a value over 9500rpm which would mean you can only set the speed limit to speeds over 55mph

  • Q. Hi, I have a aerox moped which is currently unrestricted to 55-60mph by swapping my CDI unit with this can I then change the Revs to however much I want setting the speed at 30-31mph (legal limit)
  • A.

Hi,no I'm afraid not- if you have removed the variator locking ring the variator will hold the revs constant all the way up to around 40mph which means that a rev-limiter won't have any useful effect until the revs start to increase after 40mph (once the variator is all the way out and can't move anymore) which means that you can't use a rev limiter to limit the speed to under 40mph on a de-restricted moped.
