The R2 exhaust has a bigger outlet diameter then the R1. The R2 is 28mm and the R1 is 25mm. The R2 exhaust would be better if you were planing on fitting a big bore kit in the future.
They are not restricted from the factory which means they are not E-marked (too highly tuned).
